About Condition Orange Preparedness

Our Mission

At Condition Orange Preparedness, we provide training, coaching, and consulting services to develop realistic, non-apocalyptic preparedness skills.
​
We focus on helping people develop contingency planning skills in the areas of personal protection, physical safety, career transitions, and overall emergency readiness. We also help instructors develop skills to deliver more impactful training programs.  

Michael Treat, Owner and Chief Instructor

Mike has extensive experience in corrections, law enforcement and private security. He began his teaching/coaching career in 1998 while working as a St. Paul Police Park Ranger - Field Training Officer and again in 2001 as a Minnesota State Corrections Officer - Basic Lifesaving Skills/CPR/AED, Control Tactics and Self-Defense instructor.

​Mike also has training and instructor certifications from Rangemaster, Massad Ayoob Group, NRA, Valor Ridge, QSI Training, Minnesota Kali Group-Professional Development Department, Agile Tactical, Shivworks, IA Combatives, Integrative Defense Strategies, MN POST and Minnesota Department of Corrections to name a few.

Outside of work, Mike enjoys jogging, 1/6 scale modeling, and a well-made cup of black coffee. 


Brenda Peterson, Learning Experience Designer

Brenda is a dynamic training and development leader and an innovative learning experience designer with an extensive background in technical training, soft skills training, instructional design, and training management. As a 5-time layoff survivor, Brenda is also committed to helping individuals navigate job loss and leverage useful strategies to find new positions (all while helping lift up others along the way).

Brenda also enjoys helping instructors improve by sharing best practices while delivering content via webinar training, blended learning, or in-person classroom sessions. Brenda also has a Master's Degree in Adult Education and a Post Baccalaureate Distance Education Certificate. 

Outside of work, Brenda enjoys inline skating, playing board games, hiking in nature, spending quality time in coffee shops, blogging, and learning all the things.
